What’s New
We’re in the middle of a rebrand here at WritersInc. You may have already noticed our new logo! Next up is the refresh of our website which we can’t wait to launch soon. We want this new look to reflect where WritersInc is today and where we are heading.
Meet the Team

Ruth | Director
I love helping our clients achieve success. I get a huge feeling of satisfaction by breaking down complex processes in a way that makes them logical and easy to follow. In my spare time, I keep fit by walking and gardening. I love reading, I’m in two book clubs, and I’m a member of Cantemus Community Choir.

Brigit | Senior Writer
Pictured above is me with my latest good thing: a shoulder-friendly narrow keyboard! I joined WritersInc earlier this year and am enjoying working remotely on a large-scale operational and compliance documentation system. I love finding ways to cut big jobs down to size. To this job I bring many years of technical writing, communications, and engagement experience.

Kerry | Technical Writer
I am an experienced technical writer and business analyst. I have worked with a broad range of organisations to analyse requirements, map processes and implement business initiatives. Outside of work I enjoy long walks, attending live performances as well as exploring art galleries and museums.

Tjaša | Graphic Designer
I have recently completed a Bachelor of Design with Honours, and am gaining experience as a graphic designer and technical writer. I have a strong interest in branding, editorial, print, and UX/UI design. I'm currently doing the rebrand for WritersInc to give the business a well needed refresh. In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to music, and following Formula 1.

Try these keyboard shortcuts:
- Windows + L = Locks your computer so it is secure when you leave your desk
- Ctrl + Shift + T = Reopens the last tab you closed, useful if you didn’t mean to do it
- Windows + Shift + S = Opens Snipping Tool so you can take a screenshot
Embracing AI
When WritersInc was founded, the Knowledge Wave signalled the end of the Industrial Age and the beginning of the Knowledge Era.
Since then, we have swiftly entered the Age of Technology, where advances have been so quick, numerous and complex, it’s hard for businesses to keep up.
All business owners need to work out a way forward. At WritersInc, when we are developing documents for our clients, we are evaluating how we use AI to increase efficiency and accuracy, without compromising security and confidentiality.
Currently we use AI to:
- Generate a first draft. We do this for policy documents that must comply to legislation or an approved code of practice
- Check consistency across large documentation sets
- Summarise and/or simplify text or long documents
- Compare documents, for example, asking AI to identify changes in legislation or standards.
What’s next:
- Using AI to record and summarise meetings to enable a better flow of information without interruption while the writer records details
- Style guide enforcement to save time for clients as well as our writers.
WritersInc has always been adept at developing Word templates, so we are very interested in the possibility of AI doing the donkey work.
NZ Kids Lead the English-Speaking World!
Well, like many headlines, this isn’t quite true. Our kids have been at the forefront of language change, together with their Australian, US and Canadian counterparts. So, what is the change? It’s the neologism* ‘versing.’ Instead of saying ‘It’s The Warriors versus The Chiefs, our world-leading kids say, ‘The Warriors are versing The Chiefs.’
Sadly, you won’t see this easily understood word in most dictionaries. However, you will hear it all the time when discussing sports with your kids.
* Fancy way of saying ‘a new word'.
Q&A
Question:
We are a small relatively new company that employs trained staff who work in the community. We have some health and safety documents, and we make sure all our staff are trained for the work they do.
What we don’t have is a process to ensure we stay up to date with H&S legislation and to ensure our staff have a safe and healthy workplace, regardless of whether they are working out in the community or in our office.
Can you help us to get our system sorted?
Answer:
The good news is yes; we can certainly help. WritersInc has developed a concise H&S policy manual that covers the essential elements of a compliant health and safety system.
We think it would be a good idea to:
- Complete a gap analysis of your documents and then
- Customise and add from our manual, any policies or processes that are missing.
As for a process to ensure you stay up-to-date and demonstrate compliance, we have a simple solution, which you can start straight away. This process is driven by a well-structured monthly H&S meeting, which usually takes around 30 minutes. We would be happy to meet with you in person or via Teams to discuss in more detail.
