Their need

Drake Medox are a leading provider of homecare staff in Auckland and Australia. They contacted WritersInc to assist them to achieve compliance with the Home and Community Support Sector Standard. They recognised their existing documentation was not sufficient and in need of updating.

As health and safety is an important component of this standard, Drake Medox, took the opportunity to review their health and safety system for the homecare side of their business.

Our solution

WritersInc helped Drake Medox staff document their processes within a tight timeframe and ensured practices complied with the standard. We developed a complete Operations Manual and Quality Manual, updated an existing Orientation programme, standardised a number of forms and developed new forms and systems. We added value by organising their document management system as well as recommending ways to enhance their quality management system.

We also developed Drake Medox’s Health and Safety manual, specific to Home-Based health care, that complemented Drake’s existing system.

Outcome

Drake Medox achieved compliance with the standard and continues to maintain compliance. Monthly quality management meetings ensure all issues are dealt with, followed up and resolved.
In 2015 we developed further material to enable Drake Medox Australia to comply with the relevant Australian standards. They recently passed this audit.
Drake Medox has a simple but comprehensive, documented Health and Safety System which complies with ACC’s Workplace Safety Management Practices.
